Success!!

I'm happy to report that the washing machine did NOT eat my little sister's sweater! Hooray!!! Nothing changed, except it smelled a little better. And now it's on its way, bundled up in a pretty little package.

and because no post is really complete without a picture, here is the first sock I ever made, modeled by its recipient, my other little sister:

While you wait...

on pins and needles

My little sister's birthday is this Friday, so I have to mail her the sweater sooooon. However, I want to give it a wash in the machine before I send it...just to make it nice and fresh smelling and make sure that nothing goes wrong....like it falling apart. Since this is my first sweater, I'm actually pretty paranoid about it falling apart. So, there's nothing left to do but wait...

Sock Update

Well, I finished the first sock and am well on my way to finishing the second one. See the cool short-row toe!! It was fun and quick and the grafting seam is perfectly disguised.

And here's the next one:

not quite catching up to the first pair, but steadily growing!
